  • Bonnet release catch (inside)

OK, a few weeks ago, i pulled the bonnet release inside my DS3 and it snapped off in my hand (Im not that strong )
Took it to my local dealers as my car is still under Warranty, they said I must have pulled it to hard. Believe me I just gave it a quick tug as normal. or at the wrong angle, so therefore not covered and will cost £155.84 to replace (£25 for the part, then the rest is labour to install it)
Anyone know if there is somewhere else i can get the Handle?

Had DS3s over 4 years. Open the bonnet almost every day

I'd try a different dealer if there was one local to you (to see if they'll do it under warranty) and if not buy the part yourself and then ask Bigfeet (on this forum) if he can link you to a guide for fitting the replacement

My cable snapped on mine the day after I bought it.only a year old.
How much labour are they quoting.
It only took them about an hour to fix.and most of that was trying to open the bonnet to replace the cable.
I would try a different dealer.

Ok, anyone know where else i could get the handle from, after emailing my other semi local Dealer in Bletchley, they replied asking for my registration, when i replied, i said i just wanted the price for the part and that i would fit it myself, no reply since then

Might be easier to get one from a breakers yard

^ This, quite often if you look for DS3 parts on eBay the seller says something along the lines of 'breaking car for spares, contact me for other parts'. If you can find one of these sellers drop them a message and see what they'd charge for the handle

                  Good luck

The bonnet handle is an easy repair if yo have the time to do it or you could really have ANY garage do this job and not just a Citroen dealership. Point of note is the handle from C3 2010 onwards will also fit your car and would be more easy to find.

The part new from what I can tell is around £15.

This has happened to mine. Can anyone point me in direction of how to fix this yourself? Can't seem to find anything online... thanks in advance!
