  • Sub Sound System??

Hi guys, I'm wanting to install a sub system in my DS3 and I want it properly done so does anyone know any good places or people who could do this for me and also could this be possible or would it do more worse then good to the sound system in the car?? [emoji5]️

Easy enough to install yourself if you're reasonably competent. I put and active sub under the front seat and was wired and working in under two hours. Bought an amp fitting kit from Halfords for ease. The Pioneer active sub has either phono or speaker wire inputs, so can be used with standard stereo or aftermarket with phono cables. Push the power wire through the bulkhead where the washer fluid pipe goes and recover it the otherside beneath the scuttle panel and there are clamp points on the battery connector.

Do a bit of googling and research and find local Car Audio specialists in your area. DON'T GO TO HALFRAUDS.

I'd recommend looking at picking up a decent headunit too. Doing it with the stock one is an absolute bitch (ask Joni).

We get discount through Autosounds: http://www.ds3club.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?43-Autosounds so see if Ian can recommend a package for you

Ah thanks, I've sent Ian a pm about sorting out a package, so I basically just need a sub (obviously with the wires etc) and a headunit? Right? And then once I've got all that I can just wait till a meet and will install it then

You'll also need an amplifier to power the sub.

Yeah of course, is it possible to install without a headunit, just use the stock one? Did it not work with joni's? I still want to use the stock unit that's the thing.

It's possible but you'll also need an RCA converter: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Speaker-Conv.../dp/B004UA753G

The headunit wiring on WTF's has trolled me for the past few months; I'm not sure if it's just her converter that's bust or whether the wiring to the headunit has changed.

Happy to have a look with the standard headunit but I can't make any promises that I'll get it to work; it'd be much easier with an aftermarket headunit.

Ah that's good we won't find out till we try aha but yeah I'll try doing it with the stock at first and if we don't get anything out of it then the other option would be a new head unit, I was thinking about getting this one?
