HTC One M8 Bluetooth issues!

Good Afternoon,

I have a 2012 Ds3 with the My E way Built in Sat Nav.

Ive just taken delivery of a shiny new HTC One M8 phone.

Ive managed to pair the new phone with the car fine, however when I go to call anyone from my contacts list the hands free just drops the call after displaying the number/name for 3 seconds without actually placing the call, has anyone seen this behaviour before?

I need a working hands free kit, Ive updated the phones software and deleted and re paired the phone, I still get the same issues, could it be a firmware issue with the cars system?

any advice is welcomed, Other than I should have stuck with an I Phone, as I am very grumpy at the minute and regretting my decision to move to Android as so far its rubbish.

Most likely issue here is that the firmware on your DS3 doesn't current support your HTC correctly, bearing in mind that the HTC One M8 came out two years after your car I would bet that this is the case. Speak with your dealer about having the firmware on the MyWay system updated to see if this helps with your problem.

It is also worth making sure that the Bluetooth setting on the phone allow the car to access your mobile. A few people miss this when pairing an Android device.

On a side note you most likely would have had the same problems with iPhone connecting and dropping as well judging by the number of threads on here!

Hi All.

I contacted my local Citroen dealer yesterday, they were surprisingly sympathetic, and have agreed to look at the car tomorrow, I am hoping that as its 2 years old, there will be a firmware update they can apply that will resolve my issues, as at present my hands free kit wont allow me to make outgoing calls from the unit.

fingers crossed huh!

******UPDATE*******

I took the car to my local Citroen dealer on Friday, I have to admit I was given some fantastic service, I was on a tight shedule due to work, I was in the dealership at 08:30 and they did a frimware upgrade on my Head Unit/Bluetooth by 10:00.

The good news is the firmware upgrade has completely solved my issues, and I now have a fully working phone with no software glitches, so very happy indeed.
