Can I replace factory default stereo with an mp3 player?

Hello everyone, Merry Christmas.

I have a 2011 DS3 that unfortunately lacks an mp3 player. I am keen on replacing the stereo with one that has an mp3 but fear I will lose the vehicle settings menu which is accessible through the stereo.

I was wondering if anyone knows of an mp3 stereo that retains this functionality? Surely the stereo is nothing more than an input device to the EMS?

Mine's got the basic Citroen system. It will play MP3 files either from an MP3 player (mine's a Sansa) plugged into the AUX socket in the centre console or from a CD.
Using the AUX input doesn't give you the ability to control the MP3 player from the sttering wheel controls or the controls on the head unit, neither does it supply any power to the MP3 player.

I do the same but I would like something a bit tidier. It's a real pain that the stereo has these configuration options.

With a bit of searching it appears you can via the stalk if you purchase the correct parts.
