  • Pioneer Turning Off By Itself

    Hello all

I just purchased a pioneer mhx something or other. Fitted by halfords and it seems to go off for five minutes and come on for five minutes. When It goes off it does the same beeping noise it does when I turn the engine off. I told halfords and they said there may be a problem with some sort of camcable or something. Said something about a connect2 cable.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and are there any things I can do

    Thanks a lot

Well all I can say if it was fitted by Halford then they need to sort it.the connects2 cables just enable you to use the reversing sensors if fitted and stalk controls.it sounds to me that you have a power issue.
    Have Halford tried another unit?
That should be the first port of call

I haven't been back to them yet. Will probably make the journey again tomorrow
If they knew it could cause problems not fitting the connects2 then they shouldn't have done it really

Not fitting the connects2 shouldn't cause problems. Like I say it is just for the sensors and stalk controls.Even if you had the unit fitted without it should still work as a stand alone unit.
Is it happening whilst the engine is on ?

Yep. It seems to be on for 5 minutes and then off for 5 minutes then turns back on randomly. It does the noise as if the engine has been switched off but it hasn't

Sounds like a loose connection or faulty head unit .Halfords will need to sort it mate
