  • USB Peripheral Error

Hi guys, I'm having a problem whereby when I plug my phone in via USB, it says 'USB Peripheral Error' on screen. It charges the phone, but I can't play music other than via Bluetooth. I'm using an LG G3.

I've tried two cables, same result. Anyone else had this issue?

I only had this on my old mp3 player, had to reset the player most times it did it. Although sometimes it would fix itself.

But not sure about it the error via a phone.

    Someone might know though!

Did it ever work over usb for that phone to begin with?

      If not, probably won't.
Newer androids use the MTP mode instead of mass storage, so our radio won't work with them.
The user manual also states the radio may support MTP, but mine doesn't seem to.

I'm sure it's worked before, I remember streaming Spotify via the cable. Will have to do a bit more investigating!

The manual says something about the charging rate ie from the mains it should be around 1800mA, but from laptop/car it's more like 460mA. When the car recognises the phone is attempting to pull more than 460mA it comes up with an error. I think.
