radio dead?

hi folks

The radio in my ds is dead, will not switch on, on the lcd display on top of dashboard the mobile phone symbol has a diagonal line through it, is it now scrap or has this happened anyone before?

The mobile phone symbol with the line through it just means that it is not currently paired and connected to a mobile phone.

Have you reset it by un clipping one of the battery leads, waiting 30 seconds and then reconnecting it again ? Don't worry you won't need a code etc if it's the head unit that came with the car

i will try this guys and hope it works, if it doesnt i might just fit an alpine head unit with aux output rather than throw cash a repairing it...

If you're still in warranty Citroen should replace it for free. I know a few have had theirs done.

If you're not in warranty you might be able to get it free anyway as a goodwill gesture.

hi, my nearest dealer is 50 miles away, factor in the trip and the time i lose i will probably replace with alpine..

I'd personally rather call them and make sure they have the unit in stock, spend the £15 in fuel and get it replaced. Maybe even speak to them about a fuel refund as good will.

If you do go for the Alpine unit and want to still use the steering wheel stalk, make sure you get the additional leads required, I believe it's Connects2 that make them.

took the car to an auto spark today who does ice installs and dash repairs etc, he took the head unit out, checked it over and it had blown a module or similar, anyway £20 sorted it and i can now stream music and use my phone via bluetooth!
