Alternative to replacing the Head unit

After reading this, and aftermarket head unit has now been added to my to do list.
Stock HU equaliser settings are inadequate on radio/cd/mp3 mode, and I want propper dab+.

Your lucky that Australia is using DAB+
Here in the UK we will be lumbered with the poor audio quality of standard DAB for the foreseeable future.
