  • DS3 New Owner Music Question

Hello all, I've recently bought a DS3 DSPORT (10 Reg) and love it already, now I've done a bit of research on the forums and I've seen already
this question has been asked a fair few times but I couldnt find a specific answer to for someone as basic as me!

Basically my car has the Sat Nav screen in it with the Aux Cable and the old fashioned cigarette charger thing.

    (Heres the dash)

I'm a very into my music and I've never owned a car as nice as this one so I'm a little bit thrown as previously I've just changed out the radio for a new one which supports Bluetooth when I want to stream music to my car. I realise its a little bit more complicated with the DS3, what I want to be able to do is have my iPhone 6 connected via Bluetooth and stream music, while song names etc appear on the display and I can control the music via the steering wheel if possible. I'm not great technically when it comes to cars so I was just wondering if anyone could give me a brief explanation of how I could do this with some examples if possible!

Also how does the Firmware update on the car, does it do it automatically or is it something that only a Citeron dealer can do and can you bring a second hand car to a dealer or will they shoo you away?

Thanks allot guys and girls, all the best Louis.

You can change the stereo out but you need a connect2 adapter I believe, that way you can still use the steering wheel controls, but you will possible loose some computer functions in doing so, someone should be along shortly to confirm.

I think firmware updates are done by the dealer and you can take a second hand car to them and they should help, bear in mind your car is outside of the manufactures warranty so they might charge you for the privilege of helping.

Thanks so much for the response are these fairly easy to fit yourself and do they work as I stated I.E displaying songs etc on the display?

Ah that sounds good, and I thought as much regarding the charge!

1st and foremost if you change that head unit you will loose the nav as it's integrated. May or may not be an issue for you. Would be for me. Firmware the dealer will charge you but you could download any updates from the web and do it yourself. Check out GPS Underground should have the updates and a guide thread. You have not mentioned it but just in case be aware that no firmware update will enable bluetooth streaming on the My Way system.

Thanks for the response, is there no way to keep the SatNav screen just intergrate bluetooth into it then?

Yeah i figured that updating it wouldnt make any difference i was just curious as to what an updated firmware would do.

          Thankyou
