  • Leaving USB stick plugged in

    Hi all,
I am using a usb stick for my music but when the engine is off the light on the usb stick stays on.
Is this an issue? Should I remove it each time?
Can't imagine it would run down battery too much!
    Thanks
    Sammy

I've been using a 16GB one of these for 3 years in 2 different DS3s, left plugged in all the time and never had any issues.

My guess is that there is a little electrical charge left in the USB after the engine is switched off, what to do is check the car later by looking through the windows and see if the light is still on.

The current a USB device draws is insignificant. It's standard behavior for USB devices to remain on when plugged in to a power source.

Nothing to worry about, you can leave it where it is

I doubt it would do any harm. But being of " old school " I would remove it. But that is just me...
