  • CD Multichanger

    Hi,

I have just brought a 2012 DS3 Sport 110HDi fitted with sat nav system. When I select CD in the music menu the head unit shows potentially 5 cds. However the slot in the unit only seems to take 1 cd. When I insert a cd it works fine but shows that it is cd No.5.

It might sound a bit dim of me but where do I put the other 4 cds? The owners manual is no help.

    Thanks

    Mick

Sorry to say but you do not put them anywhere It only takes 1 at a time.

I feared as much. Is there a plug in unit that you can add to it then?

Do not know. Sound systems aren't really my thing.

Ok thanks anyway. It seems a bit crazy to show 5 cds on the display but only only be able to insert 1!!!

Hubby had a 6 CD changer in his previous Volvo - only 1 slot. You fed them in 1 at a time giving them to time fidget and settle before inserting the next one.

If you have the after-market USB box fitted this emulates a CD changer and will show CD1 to CD6 corresponding to the buttons on the radio. Since the radio has to be programmed via Lexia after fitting the USB box, makes me wonder that the issue is related programming.

I do not have a USB socket so I don't think that is the problem. I have also tried feeding it more than 1 cd but they will not go in.

If the USB box is fitted the socket may be hidden in the glovebox or somewhere else, not by the aux port and power port.

Are we talking about the symbol the system shows when a CD is being played?

No. When you switch to CD it shows 6 discs although no information on them except disc 6 which shows 17 tracks even with no cd in the system. When you insert a cd it shows as cd6 and gives information.

Any chance of adding a video clip showing these screens ? Might help us all understand what you're seeing

Ah okay, sounds like the PDI was not done correctly and the tech told the car that it was fitted. You will to pop back into them and ask if they would plug it back in and turn the option off.

I also would like to fit a USB socket and so may have to have the cd changer switched on as I understand that the USB box emulates the cd changer.
