  • Parking Sensors not beeping after using RCA/AMP

Hi there, hope someone could help me.
Just bought my THP 3 months ago. Amazing car.
As standard for all my cars, replaced the head unit (Pioneer DEHX8700DAB) + Connects2.
Before fully installing the Amp, the beeping from the speakers wasn't affected. Music volume lowered, etc.
After installing the Amp, using the RCA, no sound at all.
Tried to install the original speakers back to their original cables, as I'm running separated cables from the Amp to the speakers, without messing with the original ones. The beeping works, but the music volume didn't change.
Is there any solution to use RCA and get the beeping to work?
I was wondering about the 3 cables from the Connects2 adapter, Speed, Park and Reverse. Don't have idea if and where they should be connected.
If can help others willing to upgrade their Head Units, I've choose this one because of the rear USB and Aux. Using this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Dashbo...item19f967b97c you can replace the original socket for the USB/Aux and run this to the Head Unit.

I would figure this out then seeing as its the reversing / parking sensors you will have the problem in control.

I have an amp etc fitted, with a connect2 and all if the things that beep should beep (inc reverse sensors) Liam might be able to help as he connected everything up.

Yours isn't using a connects2, we spliced the wires on the OEM headunit to create a separate feed to the amplifier.

I'd suggest contacting Connects2 for a manual on the wiring. Are you using an aftermarket headunit?

Thanks for the answers. Yes. Using a pioneer head unit. Funny is that if I connect the original speakers to their original cables the beep works. Even keeping the amp in and music going. But the music won't lower the volume. Problem seems to be the beeping isn't going to the RCA and amp. But seems to work on the original radio output wires. I'm assuming that the problem isn't about the head unit work or not bit for some reason the beep isn't going to the RCA outputs.

Seems like I'll have to reinstall everything and check if there's any cable loose or need to be connected. The most curious thing is as how the 3 unplugged cables Speed, Parking and Reverse would make any difference if all the sounds and the decreased volume applied when selecting Reverse. Will have a busy weekend.

Sounds like a mis-aligned cable possibly - The feed for the reverse beeps isn't being sent down the correct signal wire which means it won't hit the amplifier.

You could always give connects2 a quick call and see if they've had anybody report a similar issue in the past and what was done to remedy - 0845 257 5588

                Their response.

The interface will only give the audio for the parking sensors from the original speaker connections of the radio. You will not get parking tones via an aftermarket amplifier that is connected via the RCA connectors. Therefore to retain the parking sensors you will need to keep the original speakers / connections.
For the amplifier muting when the parking sensors are active, if the Pioneer has a muting connection which will mute the radio then it is possible that you may be able to configure the radio to go into 'Mute' when the vehicle goes into reverse. For this we would strongly recommend consulting a professional fitter.

                Best Regards

                Not really happy.
