Connects2 harness

I have just installed a Sony head unit into my ds3 using a connects 2 steering wheel and parking sensor
harness , I've got a Sony patch lead connected but I cannot get the steering wheel controls to work.
A guy in my local shop reckons that as the connects 2 lead was from another car ( i got it from a m8 ) it is connected to his car and won't connect to mine . Is it possible to return the connects 2 harness to factory settings if so how ?.. any help would be most grateful.

Hi if the Sony is a new model you have to turn the function on in the settings to allow the stalk controls to work.

Which connects 2 connector did you use....was it the CTSCT008?

Do you still get the reverse parking diagram come up on the screen with the proximity markers. I am presuming you've got a monochrome c display?
