  • Satnav problems

Hi all, sorry for starting a new thread I can't seem to find my specific problem on any of the others,
I recently bought a used ds3 dsport with everything working fine except the nav. If I input an address it just sticks on the 'route calculating' message no matter how long I leave it, then when I cancel it the map of the uk only comes up with two roads. If I just search a location without trying for a route there if finds it easily with the nearby streets etc. But if I just go on the nav and zoom in there's nothing. I assume I'll need to hit the dealership up to ask about an update, but surely an outdated one would at least work in some way?
Sorry for the lengthy post and thanks again

Sounds like a software issue is at fault or someone has messed about with the Sat Nav's files at some point.

My suggestion is to try reseting the system back to default and see if that solves anything.

Yeah I've tried resetting it already and it's made no difference, might take it down to my local Citroen dealership and see what they think, would it be worth just buying a new sd card with all the files on? If you can do that haha, thanks again

I haven't got a sat nav in my car (well, not a built in one, anyway) but the issue sounds like a failure to find satelites. Finding a location works - relies on the maps held in the sat nav. Navigating to a location doesn't work - could that be because the sat nav doesn't know where it is?
I don't know what it uses for an antenna but that would be one place I'd check - see it it's receiving a signal.
As usual, my advice may be worthless - just my attempt to apply logic to the situation!

Interesting point, is the aerial on the car the GPS one?
