  • Retro fit Citroen Sat Nav

    Hi guys

Does anyone know if you can rector fit the Citroen Sat Nav and touch screen?

I would need to replace the dash panel to fit the screen but I didn't know if it was a straight swap.

This has been asked before, the answer is yes you can. Is it cost effective? Not even a little bit.

If you speak to your dealer about this, make sure you're sitting down when they tell you the price.

You might be able to find a second hand one at a breaker. But they are expensive as ****. My smeg install set me back at least 750 euro's.

Depends on what unit. A rd6 is easy to install and configure, a smeg is not!

Bear in mind that you don't just need the "unit" but all the items that go along with it, you will also need to rewire the roof aerial which involves dropping the headlining.

It's a BIG job and not worth the money.

I've no exerience of the built in sat nav in the DS3 (or any other car, for that matter) but I have read that a stand alone unit such as a Tom Tom or Garmin (other makes are available!) gives you a lot more functioality for a lot less money and is £££ cheaper to keep up to date.

True, or you could do as i did, keep the old roof aerial and connect the FM antenna. Cut the GPS part out of the new one and stick it under the dash (gps signal doesn't mind)...
