  • Aftermarket subwoofer vs. Start/Stop system

    Hi all,

sooo I've finally upgraded my front speakers and decided to go further and install a sub. My question though is, do You have any experience in connecting it to a battery with S/S system? There isn't much on google, only a story of some guy, who said, that connecting power directely to batt+ in his Skoda has launched a lot of computer faults of start stop system. Will There be any problem in Citroen? Or maybe there is some workaround? Thanks!

Unless you're diverting power from anywhere other than direct from the battery you shouldn't face any issues with relation to power.

That guy sounds like the typical I fucked up so now blame it on something else. He probably had a weak battery to start with and when another load was placed on it didn't have enough juice for the start stop to work right.

Yeah, co basically he said something like, that when an amp is powered directely from a battery without considering start/stop module, this module is freaking out. As I don't know much about mechanics I want to clarify that before buying a sub. I've also opened, what I think is a S&S module on the top of a battery and there was one connector with an adnotation 'batt+', so I thought that maybe that's the place for it

As long as the battery is good no problems with it at all. There is a big ass capacitor for the normal start stop function. A weak battery will cause all kinds of weirdness to happen in the DS3

            Heya,

My amp goes straight to the battery + and mines a 2200w amp and I don't have any issues at all, car works fine without errors and the stop/start functions works as it should as well.

Have been thinking about upgrading my battery as well, just when I get around to looking how the stuff on the battery unclips and how the battery is removed and should be fine.

You could do the same if you were unsure but if your current battery is good then you won't have any problems anyway.
