Ipod Music sorting

Hi all,

Just a quick question. Got my ipod touch gen4 working through the usb socket fine but is it normal that it sorts each album into alphabetical order? and is there a way to turn off album sorting?

I tag all my music the same

if its an artist album its # - SONG TITLE

if its a compilation its # - ARTIST - SONG TITLE

(lol i have an OCD about correct tagging)

so i would of thought that the head unit would sort by track number not song name :S

I think i read in another thread that the head unit cant see sub-folders either or different albums by the same artist, is this confirmed? (my compilation VARIOUS folder has loads of different albums but just shows 1/1934 songs :S)

it would be a shame to go back to the 3.5mm jack to jack to have control of what albums i put on

Just hold the list button down for a few secs and you can then choose to sort by artist or by folder.

cheers biggy tried that, with the ipod connected the folder option is blanked out hmm...... maybe ill try to do it as a playlist

I too am even more sorry to bump this thread but I am having the same issue too.

The only way to get albums by artists that I have multiple albums of on my iPod/iPhone is to actually do it on the phone itself rather than the car controls.

I have my ipod connected via usb and when i click list it will only sort by artist. Is there a way to change the sorting? ie by playlist? i have tried holding down the list button but no luck, maybe im not holding it long enough?
