  • Subwoofer Rattles unfixable :(

I've tried padding around the subwoofer in the boot. Tried messing around with the sound settings. Still no hope, there is still a vibrating panel noise when listening to music and sound of a certain frequency comes on, anyone else with the HiFi pack have this problem? I really love my car but this issue seems to annoy me soooo much!

are u sure its actually in the boot and not the rear panels vibrating as i've had to wedge a couple of scarf's one each side of the rear seat and panel and have found the vibrating that i had has ceased might be that but then we av only got a bog standard dstyle lol

I think I've sorted the boot rattle, there is a lot more rattling from somewhere, I find this unacceptable on a supposedly premium sound system! :S

Bit of thread drift but I paid for the upgraded hi fi etc but have no idea where the subwoofer is! I thought it was under that bit in the middle of the dash?

I would play around but sadly the car is in the bodyshop getting fixed and I only had it 10 days when it went! I havent even program my bluetooth yet or played any music!

          Easily fixed.

Take off the panel to the sub, pack some sponge around - done!

Did that, but issue still not solved, there's still rattling from somewhere.

Really! It kind of makes me sad and frustrated that I havent even found out this basic stuff on a car I spent months configurating and waiting for the exit date. All because some clithead isn't watching the road in front of him and smashes my poor car!

Sorry whinge over! Thanks WTF for the info

Try removing stuff and see if it goes. Try removing the carpet, drive arougn for a while, see if it cures. Then try the parcel shelf, then the spare wheel kit etc etc. Try to isolate by removing stuff.

Also, I noticed when I was changing the interior that there is a hole (filled in by a blanking plate in my dstyle) under the rear seats. looked speaker sized to me, but i don't have the hifi pack. might be nothing!

Last thing is check the bolts holding the rear seats and especially the belt buckles.noticed they use foam rings betwen the buckle and the floor to prevent the two rubbing each other.

Just a bunch of thoughts, bit methodical, but i would defo try removing things piece by piece.

i still get rattle wen deep bass occurs. i seem to reckon its where the speaker is on the rear panel in the back
