Apple carplay problem

My wife has just aquired a 2016 DS DS3 and she is very impressed with it, however, we are experiencing an issue with apple car play.

If we connect either hers or my iphone by bluetooth all works wonderfully for calls albeit with carplay support. But if we connect either phone by USB (original apple cable) to use car play the stereo rings to say a call is coming in and we can answer it BUT there is no audio (both microphone and speaker). Tried everything we could think of to make it work but as yet no joy.

The firmware on the stereo is 6.1.D.R19

Any ideas on what to do.

Just a little update.... Updated the head units software to 6.4.A.R10 from https://www.gpspower.net/peugeot-cit...-smeg-iv2.html and all now functions as it should. Dealer was prepared to sort any issues should the update have failed.
