  • Bluetooth Upgrade for DS3's with 12v Socket & Aux-In Socket - for £15!!!

    Any DS3 with a 12v socket and Aux-In socket can be upgraded to have Bluetooth connectivity.

    You'll need one of these;

    and one of these;
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3705974181...84.m1497.l2649

    Plug the Griffin PowerJolt into the 12v socket, the USB Bluetooth 3.5mm Receiver Adapter into that and join the adapter to your Aux-In socket with the 3.5mm-3.5mm cable. Switch your ignition on and pair with your iPhone (other smartphones are available). NB. You only need to pair the first time.

    In future, all you need to do is jump in your car, switch on the ignition, and hit play on your iPhone - music will play perfectly* through your car speakers! No wires and no messing around plugging things in!

    All for £15 - pretty good I'd say!

      Seems decent enough, though i went with this 1 as recommended by someone here, works brilliantly! - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1607319076...84.m1497.l2649
      does the 1 you mentioned also work as hands free??

        That's the one I have. Only problem I have with it is that my phone sometimes refuses to play music. I imagine that's probably the phone's fault though.

            Samsung Galaxy S2.

            Whenever I get a problem I just pull the 12v adapter out for a couple of seconds and then reconnect. Seems to work just fine.

                    The tune cast is new. The old one i have which only works indoors, sound quality is so so, not as good as factory ds3 bluetooth but hey its cheaper!

                      just got this setup myself and im really impressed with it.. works great with the 4s although i still need to get somewhere to mount the phone.

                      Still wish i had gone for factory fitted bluetooth though as not being able to skip songs on the steering wheel buttons is something im still missing

                        I've followed your advice and tried this. Works really well for music with the sgs3.

                        The only problem is that the calls still have to go through the phone speaker. I'd have preferred to been able to use the phone mic and car speakers (like when the aux cable is plugged into the headphones) but I guess it isn't possible.

                        The only other alternative I've seen is to use this...

                        http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-HS30...3915121&sr=1-2 but I guess this means the calls will go through the mic on the headset.
