  • Upgrading the sound system

    Hi Guys,

Whats the deal with upgrading the sound system without losing the control of the headunit for the display? i've got the upgraded sound system with the sub in the boot and the extra speaker in the front but it sounds pretty poor so was looking into upgrading it.

    What are the possibilities?

    All comments are appreciated.

    Cheers

    Andy

Endless...you could go for a custom hu but personally I think it would ruin the good looks of th stock dash. Also there's the element of theft with a nonstock hu. I'm currently looking to switch the stock speakers off and have a custom boot build in white fibreglass that houses a multi channel amp to run both my components and subwoofer.

You could look at remove the existing sub and having a fibreglass enclosure built behind the carpeted wall on the right, and put the amp under a seat or wheel space!

As I say completely endless options are available!

Excuse my shit English! Phone is bloody auto correcting!

can you add new speakers, amps and subs on the hold headunit? I see what your saying about changing the HU and thats kinda why I wanna leave it.

So I guess the question is, can you upgrade the soundsystem without upgrading the Head unit?

You can get something that converts the signals from the factor head unit into preouts for an amplifier.

This one looks better as it does 4 channels and outputs a 12v trigger.
