  • USB Stick Folder View

I've got many folders of music on my USB stick, and it listed & played them great, but every time I've added new folders it seems incapable of listing the new folders in alphabetical order, but they all play fine. The original folders are still in alphabetical order, but the new ones are mainly at the end of the list. What am I doing wrong? They're all in order on my PC. Any help greatly received, cheers. (Loving the DS3 despite this tiny snag)

Have you tried clicking the refresh list button on the hu?

If you mean pushing the List button with Refresh on it, then yes, many times, uncluding holding it down for a while to see if that worked, but nothing.
Strangely, my girlfriend has a new Peugeot 207cc with the identical stereo, and the USB stick works fine in hers, and vice versa, her USB stick lists the folders all jumbled in my car, yet it's fine in hers. It's as if the cars USB system needs to be reset to 'name' view, rather than 'date modified' view. Maybe I can connect to the car via a USB to USB lead and my laptop?

Have you tried a different USB stick, also have you got the stick correctly formatted, has to be FAT32 not NTFS?

It's a pity we didn't speak about it on Sunday, could have tried my stick in your car & vice versa.

The use of my USB was after our meet on Sunday. I will try another and check the formatting as well.

            Cheers Arlow

PS: Just checked both USB sticks and they are both in FAT32. Both are 8GB The one not working is a Sandisk Cruiser Blade.

I will try the Cruser Switch tomorrow. Will report back.

Haven't got my handbook handy, so can't say for definite that is what the problem is. However I do know that the stereo is very picky about what file types it will play, I have my music in WMA format, also know that MP3 is supported.

OK thanks Gents. Need to have a think where I go from here as all I have done is transfer tracks from my Itunes library to the usb stick.

                    Any suggestions?
