Only plays first 999 songs?

in my DS3 I use my iPod as my music hub, where I play my in car music from.

lately it just decided to not random all 1750 songs but only the first 999 ?? anyone know why?

when it reaches the 1000th it goes to 000 ?

Is it not just displaying 001 instead of 1001 because it can't fit the digits on screen?
