  • Am reception on a aftermarket stereo with Fakra adapter

Hey all, I was hoping someone could help me with an aftermarket stereo question.

I changed my stereo ages ago, and purchased a Fakra adapter for the radio.

The problem is, that whilst the Fm reception is fine, the AM is non exsistant. This was not an issue at the time, but now I've found myself driving long trips and would like to listen to talk sport for the footie results.

Does everyone else have this issue, and if not, can you let me know where you bought your adapter from, because I may just have bought a rubbish quality one!

    Cheers!

I didn't know people still broadcast on AM frequencies O.o

Did it work with your old headunit? Have you spoken to the manufacturer to see if they're aware of any issues or fixed?

yeah, it did wok on the factory fitted fine.

I actually think I may have found the problem and connected the separate wire form my adapter to the wrong wire from the loom (have went by colour, rather than function) .

      I will report back

Thats it fixed now. it was just a case of me not reading the wiring right on the headunit so the adaprot was not getting power to boost signal for AM

Glad i've got Am back now though!

        Cheers for the help.
