How to delete phone book entries

I seem to have all my phonebook entries screwed up in the car and they all have an UK international prefix added .When I try to call these calls don't get through . Is there a way of deleting the phonebook entries from the cars memory and starting again . I tried updating them on the phone but the car keeps the original entries in memory .

Aren't they as they appear on your phone? Not the car?

The numbers are read from the phone memory so the issue is more to do with the way the data is being transmitted by your mobile.
