  • 2013 Speed Camera Database on 2010/2011 Maps

First off, when i bought my DS3 Racing it was missing the SD Card for the Myway. So after alerting the dealer they sent me a new one. There was me hoping it would be the 2012/2013 Maps but unfortunately they obviously sent 'like for like' and sent me the 2010/2011 maps SD Card. (Probably one they had lying around).

So after spending all this money on the Car, insurance, Tax, Extended Warranty, GAP Cover I thought I can wait for Xmas time when i'll buy (or be bought) the 2013 Maps SD Card. But I saw the Speed Camera Database download for a fiver on the Citroen Navigation site and thought what the heck. So I have installed the August 2013 Speed Camera Database on my 2010/2011 Maps SD Card.

Can anyone see any issues with this?? Will it work? Luckily there aren't really any speed cameras in my local area to test this.

it shouldn't be a problem for most speed camera locations apart from the new ones that maybe located on a new map but your old maps do not show the new road location. you maybe about to get the new maps on www.gpsunderground.com, thats where i i got my Garmin maps from

Ripped from DS3Club.eu - Credit to Sim22 for posting the guide:

        - Insert SD Card into SD card Reader on your computer

        - Extract everything from the .rar file and you will find 2 files which you will copy into the SD Card. Copy these 2 files to the "database" folder. It will ask you to over-write existing ones. Click yes/Ok

        - Once the 2 files are copied onto the SD Card as mentioned above take the SD Card out and go to your card. Insert the card and then do the following.

This is now to activate the warnings for the Speed Cameras:

NAV Button - Navigation Menu - Settings - Set parameters for risk areas

In that menu you will 3 options

        Display on Map
        Sound Alert
        Visual Alert

Tends to be the trend with start-up forums.

The database does not have camera location for France just danger zones. http://citroen.navigation.com/DS3-20...038/en_GB/EUR/

Does this update the maps or just add the locations of cameras?

It will just update the camera locations although you can purchase the 2012-13 map set there also. Both the citroen maps and the citroen Camera database are normally on the GPSUnderground site for download.

I had a quick look on the GPSU site but wasn't sure if I was looking at the correct links.

I looked at the link above as I wondered if they would have updates for the fiancee's TomTom, appears not, we already pay them for my GoLive updates and don't want to do the same for hers as she only really does local journeys. It's just a bit annoying that she gets the map update reminders on screen a lot
