  • iPod help!

    Hello everyone,

Wondering if anyone can help... Apologies if I'm going over old ground, but I can't seem to find the specific answers on any other threads.

I got my DSport Plus yesterday, which has the hifi system. I really like the system, but I can't seem to get the hang of the USB settings. When I plug the ipod in, I lose control of it, as if it freezes. I can choose songs via the radio, but I can't seem to be able to choose albums. I can go to artists, but it just lists their songs. Basically I'm pleading for help in either being able to control the ipod when it's plugged in, or whether anyone knows how to list the albums.

I want to use the ipod rather than my iphone, mainly because I've got best part of 600 albums in it, which I won't get on my iphone. I've tried using the aux, but it plays the music much quieter than the usb. I'm assuming this may down to the fact the lead isn't that great.

    Thanks in advance,

I'm not sure about the USB but the volume on the Aux connection is controlled by the volume of the device connected, as well as the volume set on the car.

      Thanks beef.

The volume thing is not too much of a concern, as I think it's just a cheap lead I have. It's just when I plug it via the usb I lose all control of it. Just want to be able to choose albums, but it doesn't seem to give me the option to.

Press and hold down the music symbol and change the list settings to albums and see if that does the trick.

Also do mind that the system is not designed to support 1st Gen iPods so check which version yours is.

          Thanks BigFeet

I think mine is the 3rd generation (ipod classic), so that'll be the reason why it's not quite working. I'm holding down the list button but not getting albums as an option. I think I'm going to have to buy a good aux lead.

Mmmm if you hold the 'List' button down (when playing from the iPod) on the head unit does that bring up an option to display folders on the iPod ? I haven't used mine in the car for months so can't recall sorry....

It does, but doesn't give me an option of an album folder. The closest I've been able to get is going into the artists, and then it'll just list all that artists songs, even if there's 4 or 5 albums worth. It's a bit annoying, as I there's gonna to be albums by that said particular artist that I don't want to listen to. Let's be honest, everyone knows that Gina G's second album was far superior to the first. In this cruel twist of fate I'm now exposing myself to the first one when I only really wanna listen to the second.

Oh that's a pain, I stopped using my iPod Touch and picked up a couple of 16gb USB Sandisk Cruzer drives, I then set up a folder for each artist and then within that folder I have a folder for each album....

I honestly can't remember how I used to work the iPod other than as I suggested above which works for the USB sticks

Yeah, I think that's what I'm gonna have to do. Saw another thread on here for the little 16gb scandisk sticks, so I may get a couple of them off eBay.

Yeah I got the 16gb versions off Amazon, like these - http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-SDCZ...sk+cruzer+16gb

I think that link goes to 32gb version though

Hey Lee, sorry I should have said 'Folders' rather than 'albums'.
