  • Fitting sub and amp?

Hiya, ive got a sub and amp from my previous car and wanted to know if i can have it added to my sound system in Pinky!. So have it exactly the same as it is already with the standard dsport sub working ,but just add my other one to it so i have it all working ? Is this possible ?
(just in case my neighbours cant hear me comming home as it is lol
    Thanx Nicky

Yes its possible, but it would be a faff. Would involve tapping into your rear speaker wires

Ahh thanks, ok, i was thinking they would be able to run it off the cable going to the original sub or something simple like that?

There is a remote wire output from the standard headunit for turning amp on/off with headunit (PIN 11?).

You will just need to splice into that wire, power will come from battery and the sound can be picked up from the rear speaker wires (check amp will accept these and not RCA's only)

You may be able to bridge from the existing sub but it would still need power and remote i think.

Thats great thanks for ur help
Might have to take a trip to huets now i know its not out the question. Its a decent sound system as it is, but as ive got the other stuff just sitting around i might as well see if i can get it fitted depending on what they need to do. Thanks again, Nicky

With carefull setting of the Bass Treble and Loundess controls, the in built sub-woofer works very well. But due to its compact size, it naturally resonates at quite a high bass frequency which can sound a bit drowny.

A simple mod is to wedge a slice of low density foam over the top port of the sub-woofer - this dampens the unit and lowers the natural resonance, a much lower bass response

The centre dash speaker is total rubbish - enhancing only harsh mid range vocals etc and loosing any stereo separation.
                  Sounds much better without it...
