  • Subwoofer and Start/Stop Eco

    Hello everyone,

I picked up my DS3 DStyle+ Airdream last week, I've replaced my head unit and I'm looking to put my sub in at some time soon. I'm a little unsure as to how/if the start/stop eco mode will be affected?

Does anyone know how it works and whether using a sub will have any effect on it?

    Thanks
    Matt

I have the Stop/Start eco jobby and the standard Hifi subwoofer. The stop-start has a mind of its own whether it stops the car or not - either due to low battery level or power demand; but it has never had an issue restarting it.
I would assume that an aftermarket sub would have the same effect.. No real difference in the stop/start. Except occasionally not turning off the engine at lights - something easily lived with.

Might have missed the point here but what has the start/stop got to do with the audio ?

If you dont like the s/s you press the button and the sub I am sure is not linked

I've never had a car with s/s so wasn't sure about wiring the sub up to the battery if anything different needed to be done.

If the car turns off at the lights for example and the sub is running, am I right in assuming the car will turn back on quicker as more power is being drawn?

Yep that's how it works, so if your AC is on and the lights there will be more draw on the system and it will mean the car is likely to start earlier than if these were all off.

Bigfeet posted a guide to the stop/start system here - http://www.mediafire.com/view/?xhr45anbdbeuou9
