HiFi System - Does not include boot mounted subwoofer

Hi All,

Initial reviews all talk about a premium HiFi system with boot mounted, tube shaped powered subwoofer.

In the UK, the HiFi system simply includes a centre speaker along with the rest of the speakers. The tube subwoofer is an official Citroen accessory and *not* part of the trim level selected when choosing the car.

I.e. once you get the car, you then need to order the sub. I have to, at the time of writing, assume the wiring required is already in place. I've asked my dealer to look into it further and get back to me with more information.

This is incorrect the hi fi system does come with subwoofer in the uk it is hidden in the boot behind rear wheel arch

Just what the dealer told me but I'll admit they didn't seem 100% sure.

And if you look in the official brochure a tube based sub is an optional accessory along with TomTom sat navs.

So on the Dsport trim you *do* get a sub in the boot as well? Right, now I'm more confused

I'm off down the dealers to look at their demo again.....

you do get a sub hidden in rear wheel arch on d sport and with hi fi pack on d style

your local dealer should really know theyre product knowledge by now the DS3 is generating an abundance of enquires and they should know what they are telling customers is the truth if you are going to visit the dealer take off the grill on o/s rear wheel rach and you will find the sub in question

Found it!!!

Problem was with the regional product manager, not my dealer. During the product launch, the product chap had told them that the sub was an extra (as in the brochure) and that it must be ordered as an accessory. So they are now putting that right with everyone.

Anyway, my car has the sub, being a Dsport, so no worries there.

I was almost on my way back to the dealer to ask where my "tube" subwoofer in the boot was when i saw this post. Sure enough, a little digging behind the offside boot side grill (with the stereo pumping out some heavy music) identified the sub (a single large "normal" speaker inside).

Thanks Saved me an embarrassing talk with the dealer.

Hi everyone. Thought id ask a question on this matter as the dealer i have ordered mine from gave me different information. According to them the tubed subwoofer is placed on the floor inside the boot. Now i dont know if this is right as i have the D-Style ordered with the Hi-Fi module. If the sub is infact in the o/s wheel arch, what does it look like? Is it as shown in the brochure or some other form?

Any answers on this would be helpful as i really dont trust the dealer ive ordered mine from. I have a feeling i will recieve a different car to what ive ordered :P

My D-Style with the same Hi-Fi kit came with the sub mounted
in the boot but NOT as a tube. Seems as though the very first ones
(pre-release?) may have had these, but mine is hidden in the side
of the boot (behind the grill) and looks like a quite fair-sized large
"normal" looking speaker.

Right, to clarify everybodies thoughts on this.... in Dsport, which comes with the HiFi upgrade as standard, the sub is mounted in the boot. Which is what most people have discovered, if you look the drivers side of the boot sticks out considerably more than the passengers side. The additional "tubular" subwoofer cost £299, which is STUPIDLY expensive, but is not standard in any DS3 model! For that sort of money you might aswell get a top end sub from a car HiFi shop...

Just had a read of this and I kinda understand Fowler's post but still mighty confused (im a newbie, be good to me )

So in the Dsport with the myway sig pack (which i think comes with the hifi Upgrade) i DO get the sub in the back or not? lol sorry to be a pain in the rear :P

The Dsport comes with the Boot subwoofer as standard no packs required the Tubular one is not required as there is already one mounted in the offside of the boot by the wheelarch
