Me too. I just hope they let you choose non-Apple apps too, I use Spotify a LOT more than I use the default music app for listening to music.
Edit: Actually just read it properly "CarPlay will also support additional audio apps that you’ve downloaded to your iPhone for enjoying podcasts, music, and radio." Hopefully this means Spotify.
Yep the Spotify logo is in that little section so that looks promising.
I'd want to see Waze on there too.
Thinking about this, this is probably really big news. The key thing to look out for in the coming months is how Google react. My guess is that they'll create a version of Android for the car and we'll start seeing loads of aftermarket Android kits as well as original manufacturer equipment.
its a pity really and this then forces owners to choose a compatible phone. so much for competition
On that point, it'll be interesting to find out what exactly Apple's deal is with these manufacturers. If it's exclusivity then that's bad for the industry. What would be great is if when buying the car we can choose the info system's operating system much like when they used to sell netbooks and you could pick between Windows and Linux.
