  • Playing Order from an Ipod Playlist

    Hi,

I am currently having problems playing playlists through my car system from my Ipod, in the order that they are in on my Ipod.

I have gone onto Itunes and ensured that the song order displayed is copied to the play order, and have ensured that the car system is set to play from playlists (not artist or genre).

However when I go to play a playlist through the system in the car it appears in and plays in alphabetical order of artist name, not the order of songs in the playlist on the Ipod.

I vaguely remember having a similar issue with my last C3, however cannot remember how I must have fixed this, as it did end up playing in the order of the Ipod playlist as I wanted it to.

Would be very grateful if anyone could give any advice regarding how I can get it to play in the playlist order please!

    Thank you!

Can't believe no one has answered this yet...

Hold the 'List' Button for 2-3seconds and you'll get the option to choose between Artists / Albums / Playlists.

Select Playlists and away you go

        Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately I've tried that, and have made sure that it is set to playlist on the system, however it then continues to play the playlist but in alphabetical order of the artists, not the order of the songs as they appear on my Ipod.

        Seems all a bit strange!

That's weird, Even just gone out to check mine and it 100% plays in order as appears on my iPhone.

Are you connecting via USB or Bluetooth ?

My Ipod is connected via the USB cable and connection.

I have doubled checked just now and it is still set on the system to play Playlists, but it continues to play the playlist in alphabetical order of the artist

But it's playing the songs on the playlist yes?

Ahaaaaaaaaa! Thought I been going mad these last 3yrs!! I have exactly the same problem! Car seems to ignore fact I have selected a playlist on iPod and just goes ahead and plays what it fancies!!! Plays fine through my iPod dock etc... I now just live with it and listen to what the car wants me too!! X

Yeah it is playing the songs that appear in the playlist, but they are played in alphabetical order by artist name, not the order of songs that they are in on the playlist.

I know that it can/is supposed to play in the order that they appear on my IPod because that's what I had in my C3 that I've just got rid of and that was exactly the same system and set up as this.

If I wanted to play my IPod through an AUX connection, rather than the USB, where could I get the cable for it please?

I believe it's just a simple 3.5mm headphone cable with 2 male ends. You should be able to get one cheap from Amazon or the like.

Are the played in alphanumerical or alphabetical. You could always put a number on the track file name at start and hope they play them in that order

At the moment they are playing in order of alphabetical order of the artist, rather than the order in which they appear on my playlist. In my C3 the same playlists used to play in the order of songs as they appeared on my playlist, so I know it is possible. Just really confusing when it's the same system as my last car but this isn't working in the same way.

Thanks for the link to an AUX cable. I thought that maybe if I played them this way then the songs would play in the order of the playlist, as the manual seems to explain that controls through the AUX method are through the Ipod itself, rather than the car system.

While this is correct, it's also overpriced (not like you Andy).

Here's a better value one: 3.5mm Stereo Jack Plug to 3.5mm Stereo Jack Plug 1.2M
