  • Any Advice please on Aux/USB ports

Question is: If you only had a Aux port in your car is there any way that it can be converted to a USB port to axcept a flash drive ?

I'd say no, as the Aux port needs an audio input from the connected device, which you won't get from a flash drive. The Aux port, in effect, uses the car's audio system as an external speaker.

Of course, I may be wrong about that; if so, I stand to be corrected!

Your absolutely right Dave. It just would not work.

We covered this many moons ago, first USB needs voltage in order to work and the AUX has none, second the AUX socket in essence is just a headphone socket for the car and is can only send audio analogue signals and not digital signals required by the USB.

Your best bet is to buy yourself one of those FM transmitters instead.

You could put a new head unit in

If you don't have Bluetooth in your car then get a Parrot system, these have USB sockets on them.
