  • How to mirror screen with Android and MirrorLink on SMEG DS3

Folks, after a long research I figure out.

With smartphones with MirrorLink protocol (means Samsung, some LG and Sony) you can mirror your screen if you follow these steps

Preliminary actions on Android - Do it once

    1) Enable Developer Mode on your Android device (there's tons of tutorials on Google)

    2) After enable, go to Developer Options and Enable USB Debugging

    3) Install the following Apps:

    - Samsung Car Mode (at google play store)

    - LG MirrorDrive version 1.2.1.2 of February of 2017 (you can find it at www.apkmirror.com)

    - Go to LG MirrorDrive App properties and DISABLE all notifications for this app

    - SwiftlySwitch (this is the APP which will overlay the Apps - please spend sometime customizing it according your needs - spend time because this app is the key feature of a good or bad experience)

This is it on your Android. Let's go to SMEG

    1) Turn on the car
    2) Connect the smartphone via USB
    3) Go to "Connect Services" and MirrorLink

*** Stand by the Menu..... Pay attention on the next steps

    4) Choose Car Mode

*** Stand by Car Mode be loaded

    5) Click now in LG MirrorDrive

    The icon will just "flash"

    6) Click on the First button at Top left (4 squares together)

*** This will take you to the first Menu, the same where you going have CarMode and LG MirrorDrive - CHOOSE NOW LG MIRRORDRIVE

*** The main screen will be loaded again.

DONE - You will be able to click on the small blue line of SwifltySwitch that you installed and place the shortcuts.

Mirroring your screen with an Android device is a straightforward process that can be incredibly useful, especially for those using tough tablets tough tablets designed for rugged environments. To start, ensure your Android device and the receiving display, such as a TV or monitor, are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Using the built-in Cast feature, accessible through the Quick Settings menu or Settings app, you can select your display device from the available options. If you're using a tough tablet, this capability allows you to present data, stream videos, or share your screen during fieldwork or in challenging conditions without compromising the durability and functionality of your device. For devices without native support, third-party apps and dongles like Chromecast can offer a seamless mirroring experience.
