    Nice, is it a straight swap or do you have to modify fittings?

      It will just bolt on, but it would be crazy if you don't change everything else to cope.

        I forgot, you'll notice there's no DV on the compressor housing like on the stock turbo. So I need to find another location for this somewhere. Easy done but want it somewhere out of sight, ease off access and as little pipework as possible. Also to consider is whether to dump air from before or after intercooler.

          Here's a few pointers you may want to think about;

          You need to know the working pressure of your chosen turbo, the pressure drop of the Intercooler and pipe work, and the boost pressure before the throttle plate, if there is a difference greater than 4psi drop, this will affect turbo efficiency.

          Decisions decisions, do you VTA or internally recirculate ?

          Hot side or cold side ? Is there little or indeed any advantage or disadvantage ?

          Choose wisely Jamie, there are lots and lots of conflicting answers no this very subject, many believe the best place is post Intercooler pre throttle plate, an incorrect chosen BOV, DV can bleed off precious boost psi in this position during positive throttle openings.

            Believe you and me Czar, I spent many late nights reading pros and cons on DV location. And like you say there is no definitive answer. It will be a closed system. Will be using OEM DV with VAG G revision diaphragm and a 12.5% uprated spring, after all I've used IMO this one out performs the best. I will use the Audi S3 DV relocation housing to connect it in. Position of it is likely to be a in place for convenience of servicing not for the marginal power difference if any.
            Half through another book on airflow, analysing the data to increase performance. This ones making my head hurt.
            I'm not after big boost, just better flow.

              If you don't mind, maybe we could bring our thoughts to the forum (you're thread) to give positive discussion whilst those interested who have a passion for wanting to learn, if they don't know already, will benefit from the discussions.

              Improving airflow is key, sadly the greatest restriction is the Intercooler, as I'm sure you are aware, keep all tubing as short as possible, smooth as possible and straight as possible, are you aware of air straighteners ?

                      No problem, anyway back on track, what have you concluded about airflow ?

                          • Ok....air straighteners...you mean the plates inside the intercooler headers to help guide the air?

                                Acoustic harmonic tuning is a very time consuming process, different materials give varying harmonic frequencies, when I experimented with the inlet manifold, not only did I try various materials, I turned it upside down too.

                                Kind of, not quite, air straighteners can be used to guide the airflow when air meets a radius, keeping the airflow as straight as possible lessening the resistance effects of the radius which upsets the flow.
