It's going for a cage fit in the new year, hopefully all done by the end of January.
Think I'm going to book on Cadwell if you fancy it?

I'm a year behind you. Would fancy it, but mine not even been tracked yet. Having issues with my cable and throttle body atm, but getting there. Probably get rebored to 64mm with new flap and spindle. General thoughts are remaps arent that perfromance enhancing for what they cost. Could chip it i spose. (RS Tuner)
Got gearbox oil (Summer) sort out some track wheels/tyres (Have a set of rims) and wont strip the rear till been on track couple times to see how the balance of the car is. Certainly thinking roll cage and buckets- bout £600 used i reckon. Been told best not to fit buckets without roll cage, and vice versa.

Deffo catch up with you on track, probably mid 2017 at earliest, unless i just go for it one day.

              • Changed out the front brakes again for a new set of Racing calipers and discs.
Back on with roll cage fitting now...

                  • Full roll cage i assume? - thats not cheap. Welded or bolted?

Will fit rear half to mine when i get one cheap enough... bolted... around £300 used 4me.

Bars low down across the doors? - PITA for daily driving

Thing is about a roll cage, it may make the car look the part, but you will more than likely never need it. Mind you, having experienced you road driving James..... LOL

Trying to get to Castle Combe for their Spring Action day 8th April- early tickets were only £12 with 4 passengers included

James- Ive signed up for the last 1 n half hour session at Donnington for FCS if you fancy me chasing you round the track (Snigger)
Got 165bhp on the rollers recently, happy with that for a 17 year old. Remap next after gearbox oil

Will come catch you on a track day soon (Might have my DS3 by then- gotta hit £3k for a THP)

                    • Just a half cage, have had all tubes bent to drawings, just need to weld it together in place and then take it back out for powder coating.
Gone for a 50mm CDS tube main hoop with 45mm CDS tube support braces...nice and chunky but heavy. Hoping not to need it lol but intend to anchor harness straps from it so there in the correct position.

                            • James- did you weld the cage in, or bolt it
If you bolted, did you weld spreader plates in

Have my cage, but not sure if i can just bolt in, or have to get plates welded in. Not being used for Racing, just a safety device for track days

                              • Cage not completed yet, might have a new track project coming so everything on hold at the moment.
My cage is bolted in, and will be I 2 sections which will unbolt to allow for easy removal.
Used a few OMP brackets etc.
150mm mounting plates in the floor.
