God knows how my roof got so many chips! I don't routinely park under trees etc. First noticed it last summer - thought it might be hailstone damage, but there are no dents, so that may be a wild guess. The black paint has also faded very badly, so a wrap would cover a multitude of sins, and I'm thinking it would be cheaper than a respray. Any idea what they'd charge for a simple black roof-wrap?

Prob £150 for a plain black roof wrap- u could plastidip yourself for £40

Ed- Was quoted £230 +vat for roof, front grille and wing mirror covers

Cheers! I'm not sure I'd trust myself to spray it - and if I c*cked it up, I reckon peeling the plastidip off would remove most of the remaining black paint!

i reckon they just wave a spray gun at them when they paint the roofs - the black paint certainly doesn't adhere at all well to the paint underneath.

Reckon it would be easy to mask off with newspaper, and about 3 tins dip
In fact I bought 3 tins to do mine, but having a (Gratis) roof decal fitted next week

Was thinking I might get it done in green, like my avatar, but I'm not feeling too happy on the football front at the moment, so I'm not sure my heart would be in it!

Least a wrap can be removed. Spray job is until you get another spray job
