Rethink on the air induction point (Had another cider too lol)

How bout a newly cut vent, or use one of existing, and stick a "mushroom" type air intake filter just under
The great debate on "cold" air feeds, I'm sure you've all got your own opinions and ideas, the internet is a wash with such fascinating "facts" so, let's have a quick think about this.
Your engine is up to working temperature, in the case of the THP that's 105°c
Your turbo is driven by 850-900°c exhaust gas, this continuous cycling heat, radiates through to the compressor (turbo intake)
The very nature of the word, compressor, should give you a clue, when you compress the incoming air, this generates heat. Not only do we compress the incoming air and generate heat, the turbine shaft is spinning approximately 180,000rpm at cruising speed, we now have sonic air movement, yes that's right, the air is moving faster than the speed of sound, this movement also generates heat!!
Our THP turbo has a working air outlet temperature delta between 90-150°c
Ambient air intake temperature, as you can gather is not quite as crucial as you may think!!
What is crucial is not so much the air drawn into the turbo to begin with, it's what emphasis you put between the turbo air outlet and the engine air intake manifold, namely in the case of the THP, the INTERCOOLER.

Chris, I'm not sure you've quite understood what I've written or indeed the concept of having a "cold" air feed prior to the turbo intake, all the time your spending on trying to implement a "cold" air intake is pretty pointless, you'd be far better spending your time, effort and money, on cooling the air after it leaves the turbo, and possibly creating a vented engine bay under tray, to work with the underside low pressure area and vacuum, pulling out the immense engine bay heat!!

That sounds like a good idea- but will it give me good sound?
Modifying Induction parameters do help in that way- but i take your point
There are a fair few videos on utube not particulalrly extoling the virtues of Induction kits
Anytime you open an enclosed air filtration system, in favour of an "open" air filtration system, the audible acoustics of induction will increase, if it's your desired goal to spend good money on merely the induction acoustics alone, why not simply install a cone directly onto the end of the turbo intake, if there is room, saves much wasted time, and will achieve your desired goal swiftly!!
