Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Yorkshire Meet

For anyone around Yorkshire, Tyne and Wear, Northumberland (and anyone else who doesn't mind the drive)

I was thinking of organising a meet in Scarborough (easy for all of us) and with it being a nice mid point it makes it ok for more people to join us.

I think sometime mid to late August would be good but it all depends on everyone's schedules. It'll be informal, meet up in the sun (hopefully), grab something eat, have a chat and if anyone else wants then go for a cruise up the Scarborough coast and out onto some of the smaller roads around there.

If you're up for it just let me know saying when you're free and we're you'll be travelling from.

A word of advice for organising meets is to pick a date. Otherwise the threads tend to go in circles. Well done for having a go :0)

I believe you gave that advice before adi? And now a few of us meet regularly without having to set anything in stone

Well only trying to help, we often have a get together of the usual four at the drop of an email. Thought you wanted a proper meet.

not to mention FCS two years running and Trax
Plus two visits to Paris.

Funny that Adi, I run a company, I manage staff everyday, I manage projects everyday and I also handle multiple clients EVERY day.

One thing I find and have always found is that it is impossible to quantify and set anything definitive when the project basics are unknown. In this case- if anyone is interested or not. Once I know people are actually interested and it isn't just a pipe dream I then set a firm date because at that stage the unknowns have become known.

Anyway, that's how marines are taught, dunno about squaddies. Find out what you're fighting first- then make a plan. Don't make plan when you don't know the variables- remember the P's mate? You should never, ever forget the P's

Also worth noting that when I used to help out with the North East Mini Club it was me who organised the mini pier event for charity- that involved just under 600 minis parked end to end from the end of Roker Pier to the base- everything went to charity and a good day had by all.
