Strictly business for Renault at the Paris motor show, as it introduces the new Mark IV Clio, a pretty spiffy design from Laurens van den Acker, the company's design boss.
With coachwork that echoes various Renault concepts from the company’s richer days, including the 2010 DeZir concept car, the new Clio will arrive in the UK next year with a new 90bhp, three-cylinder 0.9-litre turbo petrol engine and the latest version of the company’s 1.5-litre dCi turbodiesel, which delivers 88.3mpg and 83g/km - something of a record.
The car will come with Renault’s R-Link seven-inch touchscreen technology, which can be used to download applications that include different engine sounds, presumably to muffle the stodgy grunt of the new three pot.
Also on show is the Clio estate, a good looking wagon, which sadly will not be coming to the UK as the company says there isn’t a market for this sort of vehicle.
12.51 Here's Citroën's DS3 Cabrio at the Paris motor show. Thanks to the simplicity of its canvas roof it's apparently only 25kg heavier than the hatchback. Not sure it does much for the styling though...
The DS3 Cabrio features fixed B-pillars and roof rails rather than a fully folding top. Its canvas roof slides open along the roof rails, much like the Fiat 500C. Citroën claims that using such an arrangement adds just 25kg to the DS3’s kerb weight and offers soundproofing that is comparable to the hatchback.
Fitting in with the DS range’s focus on personalisation, the roof itself can be ordered in black, blue or a “DS Monogrammed” design, complementing one of seven body colours. It can be operated at speeds up to 74mph and takes 16sec from closed to fully open. When open, an aerodynamic deflector emerges to prevent air buffeting in the cabin.
The car’s overall dimensions, and cabin space, remain identical to the DS3 hatch, while boot space drops from 285 litres to 245 litres.

At the 2012 Paris Motor Show which Kicked off yesterday, 27th September, along with other released cars, Bentley has released their Continental GT3 Concept. The concept car will definitely make a splash news as it is designed and developed in very elegant manner which is basically developed with a racing moto.
The Continental GT3 Concept specially designed for the FIA GT3 European Championship. The stunning race car will be racing in the 24-hour marathons starting 2013 and will also tackle the likes of Alpina, Aston Martin, and Porsche. The car will be giving a neck to neck competiton to all its competitor. If I were to describe this car in one word then, i would say this car is Simply Wonderfull, with such a class apart design and much more features.
About the car-
The Bentley Continental GT3 Concept, consists of W12 engine, it is said that this engine will be lighter than its predessecor. It weighs about 2,755 lbs. The standard Continental GT Speed weighs an agonizing 5,478 lbs. The dashing racing call will also have a rear-wheel drive chassis in accordance with the regulations, state-of-the-art motorsport hardware, and a comprehensive aerodynamic package.
The car interior is built nicely and contains carbon fiber shell seats to participate in the race. The large rear wing and front bumper will be made of carbon fiber and the entire body will consist of lightweight materials.
The car shows truly A1 class style and luxurious features. The Bentley Continental GT3 concept will definitely make a grand comeback on the racing track.
Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, Bentley’s Chairman and Chief Executive, stated: “The clear message from our customers is that Bentley belongs on the racetrack, and the Continental GT3 is the realization of a dream we’ve had ever since the launch of the Continental GT. The new GT Speed is the perfect car for us to develop into a racer, and our work so far has shown huge potential. The Continental GT3 is set to show the world what the Continental GT is capable of in its most extreme form, and establishes a solid foundation for Bentley’s long-term motorsport plans.”
