No mate, it started years ago as a way of limiting the pirating of games, it has grown massively since then into more of a cloud based medium. I use it to chat to my lad as even with an uber weak and slow signal, I can still use the realtime chat facility. Is it just me or is the Steam Auction a bit rubbish, I don't have enough spare cards to make enough gems and there is no way I'm buying gems just to buy a game later!
