  • wall mounted tv cables

hi, i have now decided to try and be modern by having a wall mounted tv, so i need to get some 5mt length usb and hdmi cables,
i want to buy quality ones, any ideas, dont want to go ebay route, as most cables on there seem to be poor quality..
    any suggestions?
    thanks..

Before you buy do a search for (hdmi cables quality difference) and read then put some of that cash back in your pocket.

Gold plated are the best, you need to look at the ones that cost upwards of £100 to see any real benefits.

Now go and read Cyclones suggestion

Go to Amazon and look for KabelDirekt. The only differences between cheap and expensive cable is the price (obviously) and the robustness (due to materials used). Both USB and HDMI only send/receive digital information so they either work or they don't. There is no degradation in signal. Also there are a number of HDMI standards, backwards compatibility is easy, forward compatibility is not.

              Exactly right.
I do a lot of AV installs in schools and I use a company called cables direct for my hdmi cables .
I know for a fact that they buy from the far east as my mate works there.
              No problems whatsoever.
Just make sure they are hdmi 1.4 so they are backward compatible.
On the usb side try not to go longer than 5 mtrs as you could have problems with the signal unless you put in an extender.

hi guys, well after seeing your advise, i have bought cables from ebay, but differant versions of hdmi's etc, so hopefully if one brand fails,
the other brand will keep going!!,
because once those cables are plastered into the wall, they wont be being moved for hopefully a good few years!!..

Put a conduit in the wall, you know a tube that you run the wires through so you can run new wires if needed 10 years from now when some new fangled standard has replaced HMDI. If your tearing up walls anyway that is the way to go.
