Might be worth disabling automatic hardware driver updates if you are a gamer or serious hardware user (video/music encoding), newer drivers do not always mean better drivers.
Control Panel>System>Advanced System Settings>Hardware>Device Installation Settings.
Select NO and NEVER.

Right click on your desktop and create a new folder, name the folder GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
Double click the folder and it will open up a bucketful of options.
Now got Windows 10, on my main desktop(i7 4790k, 4gb gtx970 and Laptop(i5 3230, geforce 650m), with no problems so far. Not really dug under the hood yet, but will have a sort out of it all at some point.
SFG, have you never tried Linux? As I use that for HTPC, emulation and other bits and bobs. Pretty mature OS now, very fast, and free, and a lot more secure than Windows.sigpic

Installed W10 as the automatic free upgrade from W7 Home Premium. Disappointed to find that I now can't use Remote Desk Top to access the server at my office. Was under the impression that W10 would be all that W7 was and more.
All versions of W7 had Remote Desk Top but, on W10 I'd have to upgrade to the 'Pro' version (cost £99.99) to get it.
I now have a decision to make - pay the £99.99 or wind back to W7 (I have 30 days to do that, apparently).
Shame - W10 looks brilliant apart from that (and noticeably much faster than W7 both on boot up and in use)

My gaming laptop runs a 970M and an I7 4720 with 16GB of RAM, it has a 500gb Msata SSD and 1TB hdd for data.
Windows is fine for me, it is secure as the machines OSs are cut back specifically for what I use them for and run robust security. I thought about putting it on the laptop that sits behind and is connected to my main TV but it has a genuine OEM of W7 64 so il upgrade that to W10 aswell.
