Trying to rent a place in Southampton and all of the Canary Wharf Letting agents are asking for 4 months rent upfront as well as a deposit! One of them even asked for 1 year upfront. If I had £12,000, I would be putting down a deposit on a house, not renting a tiny 2 bed flat.
