There was this magician at the Brighton meet, who did a word association trick, went like this:
He thought of a word and wrote it down on a card and then placed the card into an envelope which he then put into his out jacket pocket so that it was still visible.
The word he thought of and wrote down was "pole", the three of us there he was doing the trick with didn't know what word he picked at that time.
He then ask one of us to think of a word / object, Bens said "car", next person said "wheel", I said "round", Bens said "square", next person said "peg", I said "tent".
At this point he stopped us to reveal the word that he wrote down "pole".

Hehe, this is a very old trick... Ben's reation was great.
