Reviews of the movie are currently under embargo, but early reactions have been positive. Earlier this week it was reported that The Dark Knight Rises won a standing ovation at a preview screening in the US. After watching the film, one anonymous blogger admitted shedding tears of "pure geeky uncontrollable happiness".

I can't wait for this.

Time will tell how long into the film it takes for Bales Batman voice to annoy me.

I hated Christian Bale before Batman but they're the only decent comic book films. Spiderman being a prime example of pantsness.

They were kinda cool at the time but when you put them side by side with the current ones, they're properly cringey.

Hoping to go Friday but most places are booked up - so Sunday is looking likely.

I have recently re-watched Batman Begins and The Dark Knight in preparation.

Not into Batman but drawn in by the hype of the current offering
Are these 2 films that should be seen before the existing one
Are they jokey, or done in a semi-serious way?

Yes as they flow from one to the next, granted you can watch them in any order you like. For me these have been by far the best Batman films made and really follow the spirit of the original comics by being much darker in nature.

Batman Begins is very good at filling in the thought process of how Batman comes about and the steps reached.

Anyone know it the previous films are on Netflix or Lovefilm? Fancy going to see this tomorrow since I'm off once I get the car looking shiny and wouldn't mind a recap of the previous films. Shame i'll be going on my own lol.
