Camera work is probably my weakest discipline, to the point of getting somebody else in when im asked to conduct that form of surveillance. I need to work at it but don't want to bring a £500+ lens out here for practice so went for this until im working back in the UK full time (whenever that may be), at the moment I get four weeks hands on then 11 weeks of skill fade.

Nice camera, the 18-55mm is ok but you wont use it that much.

Well you wouldn't use a 55-200mm for a landscape...

Canon 18-55 STM is better but the D3300 will pick out a bit more detail than Canon's equivalent 100D.
