  • Poorly car

Well, engine fault message reared its ugly head yesterday morning and engine management light refused to go out. Visit to Leeds today and 2nd gear felt sluggish and on motorway home struggled to get over 70mph.

Anyway back at home and a quick call to my works fleet company and AA were to be called out.
Arrived after 20 minutes and diagnostic machine plugged into port in glovebox.

Car told AA van that the camshaft sensor had developed a slow response fault and couldn't be fixed at home. So off to Citroen we went, booked in, AA drove me back home and Thrifty arrived 20 minutes later with a '14 plate Pug 208.

Hopefully will be back with my DS by the weekend👍👍

Cheers mate, flat very sluggish today so probably in limp home mode😭😭😭
Citroën promised to phone me tomorrow with an update. I won't hold my breath because I know after owning 4 Citroëns that they most definitely will not.

I had similar happen to my focus and it was the battery and alternator. Very very expensive to fix! Hope your work pay for this kind of thing?

Everything is paid for by them. I even get paid a contribution by them for having the car as it's a grade lower than my usual choices 😉

Well the Pug is a 1L, 3 cylinder engine. Don't anticipate it to be quick at all but will be economical. BUT it sounds awesome, like a baby V6. The noise is so contagious.

                        As if I wouldn't??😉

AA man laughed at my sign and said he didn't blame me as he had never seen a red car as shiny as mine. Also got Citroën guy to write in block capitals on the notes not to wash the car under any circumstances whatsoever.

Getting far too busy to see to mine properly atm Chris.

Just had another email tonight from an old friend whose mate has recently bought a faded red 3series and wants it correcting. Got that booked in, my Evo Magazine project is coming up, a members DS3 on here is booked in, a new Skoda Citigo wants correcting after a poor dealer "Valet" and my, hopefully soon to be revealed, secret project. Phew, oh and I'm also plasterboarding the cave and working my normal 9-5.
