The misses 06 Peugeot 407 2.0 hdi has been making a strange knocking noise from the engine every now a again so went investigating and found this https://vimeo.com/107092224

To add to the story this is in neutral and when you lightly rest your feet on the clutch you can feel knock knock knock going with the speed of the engine. Am thinking its ether the clutch release bearing or the dmf

That would be my guess - or possibly a worn bearing on the gearbox input shaft.
