.bin files are binary files. By and large these won't be human readable, unless you know what you're doing.

What exactly are you looking to find?

Think want you want is a hex editor. Loads of free ones around.

Was wondering if the programming could be changed for our older systems to use the 7 digit postcode

The amount of time you're going to spend on this is going to be unreal..

As Pete said, you'll need to modify this using a hex editor which is a tremendous amount of trial and error.

              Good luck

Not without the source code which will be the property of said satnav company.

I am guessing that won't be on the update cd?

Unlikely for the source code to be include as it would most likely be intellectual property. The only time source code would be available would be if its open source.

Are the older sat navs fitted to DS3s not able to have the dealer apply the update applied to them for 7 digit post codes then ? Or is it too expensive ?

Apparently when they did the update the excuse used was that it would be too expensive to do the older DS3's, god knows why as the update disc only cost me 81p

Citroen built sat navs are bad. Really bad, in comparison to most bought for less than £100. Tbh, my phone is better. And unless you're either delivering pizza, traveling salesman or suffer from amnesia, pointless! Haha.
